++ english below ++ Liebe Leser*innen, nun steht er so gut wie vor der Tür, der nächste Sommerbeginn und wir stehen bereit, ihn mit Vergnügen willkommen zu heißen. Vorab sortieren wir abschließend noch das Frühlingsgeschehen, nicht ohne Blick & Denken auf die Vorbereitungen der kommenden Monate, ach was, bei manchen Vorhaben und Kooperationen, der nächsten Jahre, zu werfen. Zu den Ereignissen der letzten Wochen gibt’s einiges in unserem Loose Diary: https://www.timesup.org/blog zu finden. So beispielsweise ein Eintrag über den Vortrag der CDRmare Forschungsmission, der Anfang Mai, als Teil des Rahmenprogramms von Turnton2047 im Schifffahrtsmuseum Rostock, wertvolle Einblicke in das Thema der Dekarbonisierung mit Hilfe der Meere lieferte. Ein Aspekt, der in unserer weiteren Auseinandersetzung und der Kooperation mit den beteiligten Forschungseinrichtungen (IOW & Geomar) Niederschlag finden wird. Ebenfalls zu finden sind Beiträge, die unsere vorsichtigen Annäherungen an den Müßiggang anklingen lassen. Ein vielschichtiges Sujet, das beginnt sich im Kontext unseres künstlerischen Forschungsprojekt How Dare You!? Arts-based strategies for maintaining useful hope in the climate and other emergencies prominent in Stellung zu bringen. Unverzüglich bearbeitet im Zuge einer Futuring Exercise mit den Studierenden der FH Vorarlberg. Unter dem Motto der Entschleunigung, der De-optimierung, & De-maximierung folgte nach einer spannenden Ist-Analyse die Entwicklung von Szenarien, die sich gegenwärtigen Steigerungs- und Wachstumszwängen entziehen. Ebenso finden sich im Loose Diary Zeilen zu unseren Veranstaltungsprogrammen OpenHaus | Open Dialogue & Cooks in Residence, die, begünstigt durch die steigenden Temperaturen der letzten Wochen, aufgenommen werden konnten. Damit sind zwar noch immer nicht alle Ereignisse und Einträge abgedeckt, aber hoffentlich die Neugierde zum Stöbern geweckt. In diesem Sinne folgende Vorschläge: A) werft also einen Blick in unser Tagebuch, B) stellt sicher dass die in Kürze auftauchende Time’s Up Sommerpostkarte (mit Ankündigung der kommenden Termine) eure analogen Postkästen erreicht (indem ihr eure Postadresse mit uns teilt) und C) wie sollte es auch anders sein: bleibt den aktuellen Zeiten zum Trotz, bedacht, gerne aufeinander angewiesen und einander zugewandt. Before we do, however, we’re taking a final moment to sort through the events of spring—not without casting an eye, and a fair bit of thought, towards the preparations for the months ahead. Indeed, in some cases, towards projects and collaborations that will unfold over the coming years. There is already plenty to discover from the past weeks in our Loose Diary: Among the recent entries is a reflection on the CDRmare research mission presentation held in early May as part of the accompanying program for Turnton2047 at the Maritime Museum in Rostock, the presentation offered valuable insights into the role of the oceans in decarbonisation efforts. This is a topic that will continue to inform our own investigations and our ongoing collaboration with the participating research institutions, IOW The Loose Diary also features a number of posts that hint at our tentative explorations of Musiggang, a rich and multifaceted subject that is increasingly taking centre stage within our artistic research project, How Dare You!? Arts-based Strategies for Maintaining Useful Hope in the Climate and Other Emergencies. Musiggang, or more correctly Muessiggang (or in the proper spelling, Müßiggang), is a wonderful German expression that revolves about forms of rest, idleness, inspiration and flow. We like the way it includes "Gang" which implies action (going, steps, pace) as well as "muse" as an idea of the inspirational effects of external things and a lack of pressure. Historically it is interwoven with the criticism of laziness by something like the Protestant work ethic, but also the freedom allowed to those with sufficient wealth. As we like to claim "Luxus für alle" (luxury for all) as a basis for a good society, we also remind ourselves that Musiggang should be a human right. Even when we sometimes doubt that we allow ourselves enough of it. You’ll also find notes on our event formats OpenHaus | Open Dialogue and Cooks in Residence both of which were able to get underway thanks to the increasingly pleasant temperatures of recent weeks. This still doesn’t cover every event and every diary entry, but hopefully it provides enough to spark your curiosity and encourage a bit of browsing.
